Walking around Italy

Italy is a country of very diverse landscape.  It is large enough that one two week trip will only give you a taste of all it has to offer.

If you are looking for some places a little off the beaten path here are a few to consider.

The Dolomites.  Hiking in and around this area offers some amazing scenery.  Pretty much any tour you take will spend some time in this area.  But my advice is to get out of the bus and walk.  The views are amazing.

Cinque Terra.  There are walking trails between the villages along the cliff. Take the day to walk between the villages.  Stopping in each town for gelato, lunch, or any of the amazing bakery items.  If you get tired, enjoy a nive meal, walk around the village and take the train back to where you started.

The good thing about all the walking is you don't feel as guilty about all the gelato you eat!
